The movie takes place one year after the events of the first film and follows Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson as they travel to Europe to solve a mystery involving a wealthy and powerful villain named Professor Moriarty (played by Jeremy Strong). Along the way, they encounter a mysterious woman named Simza Reid (played by Kelly Reilly) who helps them in their mission.
