Through Arthur's investigation, we are introduced to a cast of characters who bring Van Gogh's world to life. We meet his brother Theo, his friend Paul Gauguin, and the many people who influenced and inspired him throughout his life. The film's narrative is a poignant exploration of Van Gogh's struggles with mental illness, his relationships, and his art.
