The movie takes place in the 1970s, during the Vietnam War. A team of scientists and soldiers, led by Bill Randa (John Goodman), embark on an expedition to a remote island in the Pacific. The team, which includes Tom Hiddleston as Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Bill Wheatley, aims to explore the island and uncover its secrets. However, they soon discover that the island is home to a legendary creature - Kong.
